Clarivate [NYSE: CLVT] Launch Report Examining Research Performance of the World’s Leading Economies

Clarivate Plc [NYSE: CLVT] has shared a new report which analyzes the research performance of each of the member countries of the G20 with a visual comparative snapshot for each nation. It also features a special analysis of the G20 members’ COVID-19 research as indexed in the Web of Science research publication and citation index.

The report titled “The Annual G20 Scorecard: Research Performance 2021” has been designed by the Institute for Scientific Information at Clarivate before this year’s G20 Summit, which will be organized virtually by Rome, Italy on October 30-31. The report features both a written summary and an array of graphs and exhibits that emphasize the research performance of G20 countries.

Furthermore, the report emphasizes the different national responses to COVID-19 and the link to each region’s research investment and subject diversity. It discovers that regions with more even research bases, especially the US, Germany, and the UK, tend to back a response across a broader range of COVID-19 topics.

Additionally, the G20 is a group of 19 leading economies, with the EU as the additional 20th member. The report discovered that in the US, although investment is increasing, output has plateaued, and output/researcher has dropped below the G20 average. It also disclosed that in Italy, productivity per GERD is well beyond the G20 average.
