Elbit’s [NASDAQ: ESLT] Elbit Systems Emirates Receive Contract Worth $53M

Elbit Systems Ltd. [NASDAQ: ESLT] disclosed that its unit Elbit Systems Emirates Limited has received a contract worth $53 million. The Elbit Systems Emirates has been chosen to deliver Direct Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) and airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) systems for the Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft of the UAE Air Force. The duration of the contract is five years.

ESLT deemed the UAE as a crucial market and contemplates that this accord will further underscore the technological advantage and maturity of the solutions provided by the Company in this field. Since its inception, Elbit Systems Ltd. has earned recognition as an international high technology enterprise dedicated to a wide spectrum of defense, homeland security, and commercial programs throughout the world.

Furthermore, as per the agreement, Elbit Systems Emirates will offer a multi-turret design of the J-MUSIC Self-Protection System along with the Company’s Infra-Red-based Passive Airborne Warning System, offering high levels of protection and redundancy.

In addition, the Company’s DIRCM systems have amassed more than 350,000 operational flight hours to date, and they are installed on board more than 25 types of aircraft. The Company is seeing an increasing demand for this type of self-protection capabilities in light of the increasing threat that aircraft encounter from shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles.
