RELX PLC [NYSE: RELX] subsidiary Cirium which is the aviation analytics firm, has shared its On-Time Performance Review 2021 which is the global standard for airline and airport operational performance. Cirium has recognized Delta Air Lines for Operational Excellence in 2021. The company has presented the Platinum Award to Delta Air Lines.
The 2021 On-Time Performance Review of Cirium highlights the second half of the year when flight volumes returned. Airlines operated nearly 25 million flights which represent an increase of a 10% increase from 2020 but still decreased 36% compared to 2019 all around the globe. The report assesses the top-performing airlines and airports all around the globe and in specific categories.
Furthermore, Cirium revealed that when considering the carrier’s size, network, and passenger delay minutes, as well as the number of completed flights, Delta Air Lines excelled this year. In addition, with 87.7% of its flights arriving on time, Delta Air Lines wins the distinction for the most on-time North American airlines. Alaska Airlines (81.7%) and American Airlines (81.7%) were beaten by the carrier (80.5%).
Moreover, with 95 percent of its flights arriving on time, All Nippon Airways (ANA) has been voted the most on-time airline in the Global category. Japan Airlines (JAL) came in second with 94.1 percent, demonstrating the high standard set by Japanese aviation when it pertains to on-time performance.
