Amazon Web Services (AWS) which is a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. [NASDAQ: AMZN] disclosed that Adidas AG has chosen AWS as its preferred cloud provider for SAP workloads. After this decision, Adidas will shift its SAP environment to AWS and deploy an advanced SAP S/4HANA platform.
The broad SAP experience of AWS will enable Adidas to closely combine its SAP S/4HANA environment with AWS technologies to allow sophisticated analytics capabilities, data science, and enterprise reporting. Adidas will be able to attain visibility across its internal and consumer-facing operations to offer new business and consumer insights by creating a cloud-based data lake on AWS.
Furthermore, Adidas will be able to digitize main business processes across its value chain to offer better consumer experiences, become a more data-driven business, and back new business models such as direct-to-consumer after moving these business-critical SAP workloads in the cloud. Moreover, Adidas data scientists will be able to forecast seasonal demand for products to guarantee the right product is available at a specific warehouse or retail store at the right time to increase customer satisfaction by applying ML capabilities, such as Amazon SageMaker.
Additionally, Amazon SageMaker can also be employed to sales data to allow the sports company to offer customized products. This feature would help Adidas’ e-commerce site to fit in with individual consumers’ style preferences and offer a more personal experience that strengthens brand loyalty.
Moreover, Adidas can run complex workloads at the same time for design teams globally in order to update the 3D design capabilities at scale by leveraging high-performance computing on AWS. This feature will accelerate the design and creation process, cut costs, and enable greater cooperation with consumers and designers.
